The Book of Revelation

Chapter 21

The Eternity. How many generations and lifetimes have passed since the beginning of that second heaven/earth age when our souls and spirits were placed in that union of male and female love? An untold number.

Every soul right here, right now has wanted to be here, strove to be here, prayed that they would be here and is satisfied that they are here.

  • The Millennium is over,

  • The final testing period of Satan is over,

  • And the Day of Judgment is over.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. KJV

We can neither see nor visualize nor imagine what this new heaven and new earth will look like with the exception of a few commonalities with the first heaven/earth age, and I'll list them later. Our mortal, earthly brain can’t even begin to understand. Only from the goodness of our Father and what He tells us do we have any idea of what it’s going to look like.

Remember, this is not the Millennium; this is the Eternity.

Any imagining, on our part, is not only useless but misleading. We could fabricate a scene in our mind and it would be totally different from what is real.

I’ve said many times before that we are presently living in the second heaven/earth age so when the Eternity presents itself it will be the third heaven/earth age, so why is St. John saying: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away?

Because from St. John’s point of view, this age that HE is living in, that same one that WE are living in, is the first heaven/earth age. John is not considering “the age that was” that came before this one. So when his visions go from today to the Eternity he refers to this age as the first age.

And, indeed, it is a new heaven and a new earth because in the Eternity the surface of the earth will be exactly the same as it was in the age that was of long ago and since there were no oceans, or lakes or streams in the age that was, it follows that there will be none in the Eternity as well.

There will be a river that flows out from under the Throne of our Father here but it’s not as we know rivers to be.

We are one chapter away from finishing this wonderful book of Revelation and not once have we read of a rapture or being whisked away at any moment, nor have we sprouted wings and flown anywhere.

We have seen the ungodly burned up in the Lake of Fire but we have no evidence of a nuclear war between the United States and Russia (Jacob and Esau) or between India and Pakistan or between Syria and Israel.

So, all of these dooms-day prophesies of the total destruction of this earth were wrong. If they were true why is the Eternity spent right here on earth? Because the earth still stands, as a blue jewel in black space.

The word new in verse 1, has a slightly different meaning than we’re used to:

✡  New_NT:2537 kainos (kahee-nos'); of uncertain affinity; new (especially in freshness; while NT:3501 is properly so with respect to age:

✡  Root Word_NT:3501 neos (neh'-os); including the comparative neoteros (neh-o'-ter-os); a primary word; "new", i.e. (of persons) youthful, or (of things) fresh; figuratively, regenerate:

New doesn’t mean to make from scratch but to regenerate or refresh. Our Father regenerates this earth, restores this earth to the surface conditions that it had in the first heaven/earth age.

  • There were no mountains in that first age, the surface being rather flat, there will be none here.

  • There were no oceans, rivers, streams or lakes in the first age, there will be none here.

  • Magnetic north was the same as true north, there was not an average of 15 degrees difference between the two as there is today. Magnetic and true north will again be the same.

  • There were no ice caps at the poles in the first age. We have them today because of the 15 degree shift in the axis of the earth. There will be no ice caps here.

  • The prehistoric vegetation eaters kept the wild vegetation down to a minimum, no doubt, because they were so big they had to eat a ton of veggies every day. The carnivores, equally as large as the veggie eaters, kept the animal population in check so that one species wouldn’t overrun the other.

  • Water came from the dew that settled on the vegetation during the nighttime. There were no storms or hurricanes or tornadoes. The water that we see on earth today was suspended above the earth and it was called the firmament.

  • The water will again be suspended around the earth to comprise the firmament.

Ref: Genesis 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. KJV

Ref: Genesis 1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. KJV

Ref: Genesis 1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. KJV

So, how did this change come to be, the change from a relatively flat surface with no bodies of water to a surface with mountains and large areas of water? We can go to Jeremiah for that info.

Ref: Jeremiah 4:23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. KJV

In the Hebrew, without form, and void is tohuw va bohuw:

✡  Was  OT:1961-- hayah (haw-yaw); a primitive root [compare OT:1933]; to exist, i.e. be or become, come to pass (always emphatic, and not a mere copula or auxiliary):

✡  Form  OT:8414-- tohuw (to'-hoo); from an unused root meaning to lie waste; a desolation (of surface), i.e. desert; figuratively, a worthless thing; adverbially, in vain:

Void  OT:922-- bohuw (bo'-hoo); from an unused root (meaning to be empty); a vacuity, i.e. (superficially) an undistinguishable ruin:

KJV - emptiness, void.

The earth wasn't created void and without form but that it BECAME void and without form.

This is the beginning of the transition from the first age to the second age. All of the water that was once suspended around the earth, the firmament, is now covering the land mass completely.

Ref: Jeremiah 4:24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. KJV

He WILLED it and it was accomplished. The mountains rose up out of the water and the water separated, creating coastlines and continents.

Ref: Jeremiah 4:25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. KJV

There was no man, no human beings created yet and the birds of the first heaven/earth age were gone.

Ref: Jeremiah 4:26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger. KJV

The fruitful place, once inhabited by billions of animal life and birds and all the creatures necessary to make an environment sustainable is now gone. Do you notice the word cities?

“Well, who built these cities if there weren’t any human beings here to build it?”

That’s the thing with spiritual bodies. They have substance. They are capable of eating our food and the Israelites ate their food. This world wasn’t just inhabited by dinosaurs and such, the angels also existed here.

Footprints have been found, left in the sand by someone other than human beings. Over the eons the sand became sandstone, a soft rock, and the footprint, placed there over 50,000 years ago, is evidence from our Father that there was something else going on before He created these flesh and blood bodies.

Humankind wasn’t around back in those days. It's been estimated that the sixth-day creation happened 14,000 to 16,000 years ago. Unless you believe that our forefathers lived in trees and ate bananas.

Wooly mammoths, over 10 million years old, have been found in Alaska, deep below the permafrost, frozen solid with buttercups in their mouths. So perfectly preserved in the ice that the sled dogs ate some of the meat as it began to thaw. Whatever happened back in those days happened instantaneously and our Father caused it to happen. It was the transformation of the earth into this heaven/earth age. it wasn’t a meteor that did it.

Buttercups don’t naturally grow that far north in that frigid climate, but then, it wasn't frigid back then either. It was warm enough for delicate flowers to survive. The axis of the earth was still in proper alignment.

There was no water division between continents, the surface being one complete land mass and even after all these millenia, you can take a world map, cut out the continents, and almost place them together like a puzzle.

And by his fierce anger. Our Father, closing out that first heaven/earth age, was quite angry. What would cause Him to be angry? Have you forgotten the katabole’, that war in heaven when Satan attempted to take over the Mercy Seat, prompting our Father to make the decision to either destroy all of His created beings or bring them into this age?

Ref: Jeremiah 4:27 For thus hath the Lord said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end. KJV

The whole land shall be desolate. Father changed the entire surface of this earth in preparation of habitation by flesh and blood bodies of humanity.

Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. KJV

The wedding will take place. Remember, everything and everybody that offends is gone. Satan, the 7000 fallen angels, and all the souls that didn’t care, didn’t believe, have gone to the Lake of Fire and as a drop of fat on a hot coal, have disappeared, even from memory.

Revelation 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. KJV

That’s what it’s always been about, that’s all that our Father wanted, was for us to be His people, to rely on Him, to thank Him for all that He has done for us, to enjoy being in His presence.

And on the other side of the coin, He promised to be our Father, our God, to look out for us and He did, all the while we were in earthly bodies, fending off Satan and his spirits, sacrificing His only Son on the cross so that our transgressions against Him and His Commandments could be forgiven and we could, once again, have the opportunity to enter into His Kingdom.

Through the blood of Christ, He forgave us. Over and over and over and over........

Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. KJV

Death has been done away with. Every soul in Eternity, right here, right now, will be here forever. There will be no loss to weep over. Perfect health till the end of time? (Is there such a thing with our Father?)

Of all the souls that walked into that Lake, surely, some of them had to be a relative of ours. Someone we knew. How can we enjoy the Eternity with those thoughts on our mind? Those thoughts won’t be there because the moment that the Lake of Fire was sealed over, our memory of them was also sealed over.

That may sound a little hard to some people, our Father messing around with our memories and all but then again, things may look a little different when we’re in a spiritual body, we don’t really know. Certainly we will stop thinking as a human being and begin thinking as an immortal being.

Nothing can hurt us or kill us in the Eternity except the Father and He wouldn’t do anything like that because there is nothing to offend, nothing to bring turmoil.

And when you get right down to it, EVERYBODY had a thousand chances to pass on into the Eternity. This wasn’t a drawing or a lottery. Everybody could have been a winner, it just depended on which choices you made in this life.

Revelation 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. KJV

And everything is new. We all have a new life to live, in a new place and His words will always ring true for He cannot lie or cheat or go back on His Word. St. John was, again, told to write down all the things that he saw. It will be for our learning, this will be information for us to think about, to take to heart.

There is not another book in this Bible that is more important to read and understand TODAY. Our Father gives us almost a day by day account of what’s going to happen from the very first minute of the five-month tribulation until it’s all over and we’re standing in the Eternity saying: WOW.

He tells us who the bad guys are, what they will be doing, how they will do it, when and where it will be happening and how to avoid the traps of Satan/Antichrist. It’s all laid out for us in 20 chapters, all you have to do is pick up the Book and read it and if you don’t understand it, there are pastors out there that will help you. Granted, I don’t know who or where they are but I’m told that they are out there.

Reading this series of lectures right here ought to help you out some. At least, give you a little more knowledge than you had to start with.

Revelation 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. KJV

Alpha and Omega. The first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. The water referred to here no longer means “people” as it did earlier but spiritual water, the water of life.

Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. KJV

We are standing here. We did overcome. He is our God and we will always be His people.

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. KJV

That’s a list of the people that will walk into the Lake of Fire. Do these adjectives remind you of anybody? It’s not for us to judge but really, we all know of some people that probably will not make it. They will experience the second death, the death of the soul.

     The unbelieving:

Ref: Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. KJV

Ref: Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. KJV

     The abominable:

Ref: Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. KJV

Ref: Leviticus 18:23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. KJV

Ref: Leviticus 18:24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: KJV

Ref: Leviticus 18:25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. KJV

Ref: Leviticus 18:26 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: KJV

Ref: Leviticus 18:27 (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;) KJV

Ref: Leviticus 18:28 That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you. KJV

Ref: Leviticus 18:29 For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people. KJV

Society seems hell-bent on trying to make homosexuality a part of the moral fabric of this nation. Hollywood contributes to this with movies like Brokeback Mountain, Single White Female, The Hours and on it goes but television is displaying this content on a daily basis on Soaps: “Days of Our Lives”.

You will notice that our Father has included, in verses 22 and 23, bestiality as well as homosexuality. It appears that, in His mind, one is as vile to Him as the other but neither Hollywood nor television are promoting bestiality, just homosexuality.

Maybe Hollywood and television think that the American sense of morality cannot support women having sex with an animal but it does think that sex between two men or two women would eventually become morally acceptable. And it's true, I believe, in time, that it will be accepted. Maybe not to an older generation that I belong to but our little ones are being indoctrinated every day into thinking that this is a normal way of life.

Our Father does not. He states that anyone that practices these abominations will not enter into His Kingdom.

Ref: Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. KJV

Revelation 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. KJV

Who is the Lamb? Jesus Christ.

Revelation 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, KJV

This city is not made of anything from this earth, it’s all made in the heavenly sphere. Is it possible that an entire city could come down from the sky and come to rest in Israel? It doesn’t make sense to the human mind, does it? But just because it’s something that humanity has never experienced before, does that make it any less real?

Would not our Father, in the heavenly realm, have things in store for us that we have never seen before? Could it be that that is one of the meanings of the word new? I, for one, look forward to seeing many things in the Eternity that I have never seen here on earth. What a time that’s going to be.

Will it be possible for us to travel through the universe without a spacesuit on? Father created all the objects in space for a reason. As humans, we have barely scratched the surface as far as space travel goes. One reason is that it’s so vast that time becomes a factor. A person could live an entire lifetime EN ROUTE to some distant object in space.

Even with what little we know about it there are still many, many people, including NASA and their scientists, that believes that human life started out there somewhere. It's called panspermia.

To a person who has limited knowledge of the world in general, when presented with a piece of wood and a piece of iron, he could easily see that the piece of wood will float but a piece of steel will sink. Without showing it to him, could you convince him that a ship made out of steel will float, just like wood?

It would take faith for him to believe that it was possible and, with that, it could certainly be real.

Ref: Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. KJV

Why would we put all of our hope and faith in an entity that can do little more than what we can do?

When Christ raised Lazarus from the dead we marveled and called it a miracle; when He tells us that a city will come down from the sky we call it outrageous and impossible. What’s the difference? Could we, as humans, do either one?

Revelation 21:11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; KJV

A light source beyond what we know to be able to produce light?

Revelation 21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: KJV

The 12 sons of Israel are Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Zebulon, Issachar, Dan, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Joseph and Benjamin.

Revelation 21:13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. KJV

Revelation 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Ref: Matthew 10:2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; KJV

Ref: Matthew 10:3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; KJV

Ref: Matthew 10:4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

     Verse 15.

Revelation 21:15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. KJV

Revelation 21:16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. KJV

The city is 1500 miles square, on each of its four sides, and a height of 1500 miles as well. Why would the city have a “height” given? Normally, that doesn’t matter.

Revelation 21:17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. KJV

The next five verses give us the materials of the city.

Revelation 21:18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. KJV

Revelation 21:19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; KJV

Revelation 21:20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. KJV

Revelation 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. KJV

Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. KJV

There were two temples here on earth during this age, there was a temple during the Millennium but there will be no temple in the Eternity. Our Father and the Lord are the Temple.

What is a temple used for? It is a place where one goes to worship an unseen God. Our Father and the Lord. Since they are both present during this time, there is no need of it.

“Well, what about the Millennium”, you might ask. Our Lord was present but the Father was not. Nor was the Holy Spirit but here in the Eternity all three will be reunited together into the Holy Triune.

Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. KJV

What is the glory of God? The Shechinah glory. That light or rainbow that shines around His presence. His presence pervades every square inch of this 1500 mile cube.

Revelation 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. KJV

All the different races, different ethnic groups, and their kings and queens will have their own land allotment here in the Eternity as well.

Revelation 21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. KJV

Time, as we knew it as human beings, is over.

Revelation 21:26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. KJV

Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. KJV

Everything that defiled or was an abomination or carried a lie with it is was done away with at the end of the Millennium.

We are entering into a time and sphere that is clean and pure and, as past human beings, have no idea what is involved in that.

But we sure are willing to find out.
