The Book of Revelation
Bible Study-REV-Chapter 22

Revelation 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. KJV
Water of life and the tree of life. How special is that! Spiritual water and spiritual life. Our Father’s Spirit flowing out from the Throne, pervading every square inch of this jewel of a City, New Jerusalem.
Revelation 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. KJV
This tree of life is the same Tree of Life that was in the Garden of Eden back in the beginning. Our Lord and Savior.
This word street should remind us to not take every English word literally. We first came across the word street back in chapter 11:8, connected to the Two Witnesses. After being killed by Satan/Antichrist they would lie in the street for 3 ½ days and we found out that street, in the Greek, meant a large open area, like an arena. Perhaps something like a soccer field.
✡ Street_ NT:4113 plateia (plat-i'-ah); feminine of NT:4116; a wide "plat" or "place", i.e. open square:
✡ Root Word_NT:4116 platus (plat-oos'); from NT:4111; spread out "flat" ("plot"), i.e. broad:
This verse is a bit difficult to understand so I’m going to tell you what I think it means: we know that the street is a flat wide area and being In the midst would indicate that something was in the middle of it, how, then, do we reconcile on either side of the river?
Well, since Genesis is an overlay of Revelation the answer may lie back in the Garden, where the Tree of Life was first presented to us. The Garden lay between the banks of two rivers: the Euphrates and the Tigris and if the land area between these two rivers were a “flat wide area”, we have our answer. There would be a river bank on either side of the plateau or flat area.
Bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month. The Tree of Life is our Lord and fruit or fruits could very well be blessings or something given to us by our Lord every month or twelve times a year.
The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. We’re all in spiritual bodies during this time, the Eternity, and since that body can never get sick or die, what would the healing be for? And whatever it is, it’s given to the nations, the various ethnic groups, everybody in heaven.
You might remember that during this time the different races, ethnic groups, nations, had their own land allotment and bear in mind, there is a huge number of “people” here in the eternity and they all have form and shape, just like we do in this flesh and blood body and they would take up an enormous amount of space and some groups would be further away from the Temple, Our Lord, than others.
Maybe far enough away that if they became lazy they might not travel to the Temple, our Lord, as often as they should.
Is this a requirement from our Lord that everybody come to the Temple, our Lord, every month to receive a gift of some sort from our Lord? What if that fruit were a healing balm?
It wouldn’t be for the body so it must be for the mind and soul.
Some years ago my oldest son was a lifer in the U.S. Army and spent a great deal of his time in either Hawaii or Korea, as he was a Korean translator. I spoke with him by phone one day when his current duty station was Hawaii, and I asked him how things were going in paradise. His answer was: Boring.
When you get up every morning over there you are presented with a perfect day. Just like yesterday. Just like tomorrow. And next week. And next month. Sometimes he wished for a thunderstorm just for the variety of it. Something different.
When you talk about the soul and spirit, my soul is me, personally and my spirit is my thought process and these two, soul and spirit, will always be in a body, whether it’s an earthly body or a heavenly body and the soul and spirit are always together. They will never be separated.
So, when we are in this flesh and blood body, what gets bored? The gray matter in our head, our skull or the spirit? That’s what I think as well. The spirit and since that is the part of us that thinks and calculates and reasons, it’s going into the heavenly realm as well so if anything gets bored in heaven it will be our spirit.
Many people think that when we get to heaven we will all, continuously, give praise and glory to our Father. Don’t you think that would get a little boring at times, if it were ALL that we did? Don’t you think that maybe our Father might get bored with it as well? Could He not say:
” Can’t y’all just shut up for a minute and let Me think?”
Yes, I think that is entirely feasible and if we come before Him, once a month, twelve times a year, we would receive a balm that would relieve all boredom.
Remember back in the days of the Old Testament, the twelve Tribes of Israel had grown so large in numbers that they separated; ten of the Tribes going north while two Tribes stayed around Jerusalem. And once they split these ten Tribes got lazy and didn’t want to travel to Jerusalem for the required feast days so they built two golden calves and worshipped them, staying where they lived.
The result of which caused our Father’s anger to rise and He scattered those Tribes across the world. My point is that they were required to come to Jerusalem for the feast days, would not the same apply in the Eternity? Come to the Temple, our Lord, twelve times a year? I think so.
Like I said, these are just my thoughts on it. I can’t back it up with Scripture.
Revelation 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: KJV
Jerusalem will no longer be cursed by the heathen nations; there will be no more talk about splitting her up between Israel and the Kenites. Nor will our Father put curses on her for her misjudgments and disobedience any more. It will be the Eternal place of worship for our Father and the Lord and the Spirit.
Revelation 22:4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. KJV
No one has seen our Father’s face and lived:
Ref: Exodus 33:19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. KJV
Ref: Exodus 33:20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. KJV
Ref: Exodus 33:21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: KJV
Ref: Exodus 33:22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: KJV
Ref: Exodus 33:23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen. KJV
How great is that! Our Father says that you can see His back side but you cannot see His front side!
And there it is again: IN THEIR FOREHEADS. The mark of our Father, not the mark of the beast.
Revelation 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. KJV
It says that there would be no NEED for the light of the sun, it didn’t say that the sun would no longer shine or exist.
Revelation 22:6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. KJV
Faithful and true, never wavering, always standing tall. To show you and I everything that we’ve been studying here in this book.
Revelation 22:7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. KJV
Not just this book, Revelation, but the entire book.
Revelation 22:8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. KJV
Maybe St. John shouldn’t have done that.
Revelation 22:9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. KJV
Angel worship is forbidden by our Father. Angels are you and I, only in spiritual bodies. They are not deserving of our reverence. They didn’t die on the cross for you.
Revelation 22:10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. KJV
Don’t stick this book in a drawer or use if for keeping up with who has died and when. And if you know anything about the contents of this book, share it with others. Don’t be a nuisance and talk about it all the time, wait for someone to ask a question about it and then answer with authority. There’s not much time left.
Revelation 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. KJV
You might remember these words from a song that Johnny Cash put out back in 2002 called The Man Comes Around. Pretty good song. A lot of drums and guitar work.
What this angel is saying here is that some people never change, no matter what. You can tell them something over and over and it just doesn’t replace what’s already been put there. Some people are going to believe in the rapture theory and the any-moment doctrine and the fly-away doctrine no matter what you or anybody else says about it.
I suppose, in some cases, that’s alright, for our Father said that if they want to believe a lie He’ll just go ahead and let them, He’ll make sure that they KEEP believing these lies but He will protect them through it and they will be taught the truth during the Millennium.
Ref: 2nd Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: KJV
Ref: 2nd Thessalonians 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, KJV
Ref: 2nd Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. KJV
Ref: 2nd Thessalonians 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: KJV
Ref: 2nd Thessalonians 2:That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. KJV
On the other hand, some are just cantankerous and stubborn and don’t even want to hear about the truth. LEAVE THEM ALONE. Your job is to plant a seed and the rest is up to the Father and the Holy Spirit. If the seed takes hold and begins to grow don’t try to take credit for it, you didn’t do the real work, Christ did.
Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. KJV
Boy, we should be glad to hear that. All the times that we kept our nose to the grindstone and didn’t kiss butt to get that next promotion at work and they go ahead and give it to some idiot that only knows half of what you know, we just keep plowing.
All the while we tried to do things the right way, when others didn’t, and they seemed to prosper and we kept being the dog closest to the sled, seeing nothing but you guessed it, and walking through their excrement, we eventually will come out on top and get rewarded for it.
And I’ll tell you what; if you are willing to give up some rewards in heaven for a lousy 50 cent raise at work, go and have at it. I just couldn’t do it, I couldn’t go along with the crowd. So, I was always on the outside looking in and I discovered that it’s not so bad out here. At least the air is clean and it doesn’t smell like bull manure.
Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. KJV
I AM THAT I AM. Eyah asher Eyah.
Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. KJV
Ten little ‘ole rules and the only one that you didn’t break was the one concerning murder? Huh? Most people are so self-righteous that they think breaking only one of them is no big deal but our Father says that even if you break just one of them you are guilty of breaking ALL OF THEM. I guess that would include murder, wouldn't it? (Not literally, of course)
How ‘bout them apples?
Ref: James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. KJV
Some people think that there’s BIG sins and LITTLE sins, mortal and venial, but our Father just said that all sins are equal, they all transgress His law.
Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. KJV
Without means that these people will be kept out of heaven, not allowed in. Lies. I’ve known a person for over 30 years that would rather walk around the block to tell a lie, than to stand in one spot and tell the truth. Amazing.
Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
Don't forget that there are TWO morning stars: our Lord and Satan.
There’s going to be a lot of preachers standing there on Judgment Day with egg all over their faces because they didn’t teach these things in the churches. They taught the traditions of church systems. They taught the lies of Satan.
Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. KJV
By now, you should have ears that hear and eyes that see and you should know that goodness and grace comes from our Lord and our Father any time that you ask for it but you have to clean yourself up first, before you go to them. Ask forgiveness of your sins first. Clean up your soul first.
If you don’t He won’t even listen.
Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: KJV
Remember the plagues given to the Egyptians? Remember the traditions of the church?
Revelation 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. KJV
Are you willing to let that happen? Are you willing to let all that go because of the trapping of this world?
Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. KJV
Our Lord says He’s a comin’….
Revelation 22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. KJV
